Myth 3: Expensive Motherboards Add Speed

Many people believe buying a $500 motherboard will give them better gaming performance than a $150 board.

This is a myth. Motherboards do not process data. They simply act as the highway connecting your parts together. An expensive motherboard will not make your software open faster or give you more frames per second in your games.

The Expert Tip: Unless you need very specific features, like extra M.2 slots for more storage drives, a standard motherboard is perfectly fine. You are much better off taking that extra money and spending it on a better graphics card or a larger SSD.

Myth 4: You Need the Most Expensive Processor

The Expert Tip: For everyday work, having lots of browser tabs open, and even high-end gaming, a mid-range processor like an i5 or Ryzen 5 is completely fine. You will not feel any difference in speed for your daily tasks. You will just save yourself hundreds of dollars.
